
Spanning nearly 370 years of Maryland History, Poole’s Island reflects a bit of all that represents the landscape and character of Maryland. From generations of agriculture and commercial fisheries, sporting and leisure pastimes, to both peaceful and wartime maritime navigation and military test & evaluation, Pooles Island, though abused and tired, has persevered and now provides sanctuary to dozens of species of animals, reptiles, migratory birds and waterfowl.
