Born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on 17 Feb 1753 to David and Anna (Kauffman) Mumma, Sr. David would relocate with his parents to Baltimore County around 1770, becoming a prominent merchant in the years following the war. He would die on 13 Oct 1816, and was originally interred in the German Reformed Burial Ground on Asquith St. in Baltimore before being removed to Green Mount Cemetery in 1843, along with his wife Sarah and several other family members.
Captain Philip Graybill of Baltimore County was appointed Captain of the German Battalion on July 8, 1776. He served for two years, resigning on March 12, 1778. More on the German Battalion from Maryland and Pennsylvania can be found HERE
