Published in 1903 by medical historian, Confederate Army Veteran, and one time president of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Historical Club, Eugene Fauntleroy Cordell, The Medical Annals of Maryland, 1799–1899 was prepared for the centennial of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland.
In 1909, Eugene Cordell and his wife Louise, founded The Home for the Widows and Orphans of Physicians, a charitable institution organized to provide shelter and support for the destitute families of deceased doctors.
A valuable historical reference book that contains condensed biographies of hundreds of Maryland physicians and surgeons.
