
Born in Lancaster County, Pa. in 1745, and died at Baltimore, Md on 23 Feb 1823.
Lieutenant of a Company of Foot, Cumberland County, PA in 1777 on the frontier of Pennsylvania, and as artificer at Carlisle, Pa. Was lieutenant-commander at Fort Potter and Bald Eagle Nest.
One of seven brothers who served in the Revolution.
Working with a direct family descendant, we opted to honor Lt. Joseph Young with a bronze plaque and monument versus a government marker so that his story could be told and read by all those who happen past his place of rest.
