“The Fighting Major” Breveted colonel after the battle of Five Forks.

4th Maryland Volunteer Infantry,  organized at Baltimore, Maryland, July and August 1862 for three-years service under the command of Colonel William J. L. Nicodemus.

Engaged at the Battle of Appomattox Court House and present at Gen. Robert E. Lee’s surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia.

Founding member of the Grand Army of the Republic in Maryland.

Son of William J. and Susan (Guiteau) Adreon, Harrison was born in Baltimore on 18 Jan 1841. Educated in the city public schools and at Baltimore City College (college preparatory), Harrison
